In recent years, one of the major advancements in strength training has been the incorporation of flywheel (rotational inertia) devices, both from a sports performance perspective and in the fields of health and injury prevention. Their application is not limited to trained athletes; beneficial effects have also been observed in diverse populations such as children and adolescents, older adults, patients with type 2 diabetes, and individuals with coronary disease.<\/p>\n
The objective of this specialized course is to analyze the characteristics of this type of training according to the adaptations targeted, identify which devices are capable of generating eccentric overload, and understand how to implement the training effectively to achieve this objective.<\/p>\n
Once the main features of flywheel training are understood, the course will review the scientific literature on its acute and chronic effects, followed by an in-depth look at strength training characteristics for improving sports skills, such as movement efficiency and the ability to repeat high-intensity actions, as well as the key factors to consider to elicit adaptations at different levels.<\/p>\n

He is the author of numerous scientific articles (85 JCR), with research particularly focused on the effects of inertial training systems for strength development, functional asymmetries, and the influence of biological age on performance.\r\n\r\nIn the professional field, he has worked as a coach for more than 18 years, primarily with basketball players and footballers, and served as strength and rehabilitation specialist at Sevilla F.C., winning the Europa League in the 2019\/2020 season and contributing to the team achieving the lowest injury incidence in Europe (15 injuries).
