This training focuses on a structured proposal of tasks that are analyzed in depth to establish a solid foundation for the rehabilitation progression of a player recovering from a hamstring injury.
The first conceptual axis is divided into two parts:
The first part introduces the current discussion on hamstring injuries, highlighting their high incidence in football and examining the underlying reasons for their elevated occurrence and recurrence rates.
The second part adopts a more optimistic perspective, reflecting on the rehabilitation process as an opportunity to induce the necessary adaptations in these muscles, thereby enhancing player performance.
The following three conceptual axes present a progressive rehabilitation framework for footballers recovering from hamstring injuries. The program proposes a series of key exercises essential for complete recovery, analyzed through electromyographic, kinematic, and dynamic assessments (where required), using synchronized data from multiple systems to ensure precise analysis.
The objective of this approach is twofold:
To increase the practitioner’s applied knowledge, enabling immediate implementation in professional settings.
To provide a high-quality conceptual and practical foundation, empowering practitioners to design context-specific tasks tailored to each player’s individual rehabilitation needs.
1. Understanding Hamstring Injury in Football to Optimize Rehabilitation
