The program focuses on the rehabilitation phase of injuries located in the core region and associated structures, such as the pelvic girdle and shoulder girdle. Although the majority of football injuries occur in the lower limbs, it is essential to address these regions specifically, as they play a decisive role in the stability and functionality of the lower extremities. Injuries affecting the pelvis or trunk can not only compromise performance but also act as risk factors for secondary injuries in the limbs.
In the case of the shoulder girdle, despite its lower injury incidence, appropriate rehabilitation is equally relevant. This region is actively involved in dueling and jumping actions, both offensive and defensive, and is especially important for goalkeepers’ protection and performance. Any dysfunction in this area can have a direct impact on overall athletic performance.
The training approach is situated in the post-injury rehabilitation phase, which begins after therapeutic treatment has been completed and aims to prepare the affected structures to progressively meet the demands of training and competition. From a methodological standpoint, the content is structured around the detailed description of model tasks, which illustrate the practical application of the knowledge acquired. This thorough analysis enables professionals to use these tasks as references to generate new variations that promote the necessary functional adaptations in each case, making this program a valuable tool within the sports rehabilitation process.
