This Professional Certification is designed and developed for strength and conditioning coaches who work in environments dedicated to the development of young soccer players. This professional role is defined here as one that requires extensive knowledge of conditional training (closely related to the role of a strength & conditioning coach), while also actively participating in on-field specific training. The main responsibility of this coach is to integrate tactical training with the player’s physical and cognitive needs. To achieve this, the training program has been structured around the following key content areas:
Specific training focused on the game of soccer, covering everything from tactical understanding to field-specific preparation related to those tactics, all framed within an ecological approach.
Specific concepts and tools for training young players, establishing the foundations of youth training and developing training strategies aimed not only at performance enhancement but also at injury prevention—particularly muscular, tendinous, and joint injuries.
In-depth study of strength development as a fundamental component of physical preparation, providing a comprehensive understanding of the technological resources available to improve this quality. The program also explores specific aspects related to performance optimization in young players.
Finally, the sequence concludes with a focus on training load monitoring and player assessment, emphasizing neuromuscular risk factors as key parameters to control when evaluating the athlete, while also incorporating an understanding of emotional factors that must be taken into account.
